to the white album. it might just be my all time favorite beatles album* (after revolver, rubber soul, sgt pepper, magical mystery tour, abbey road, let it be and love ;)

* i always wondered what sir walter raleigh did to be labeled as 'such a stupid get'. i thought he invented the bicycle so being called a stupid get hardly made sense. turns out, thanks to songfacts for allowing me to get a wink of sleep tonight, that he actually invented cigarettes (or something... reading ADD and all that) having relistened to 'i'm so tired' it all makes much more sense than being cross at the inventor of the bicycle :)

blackbird was on rock band. but it's not. and neither is 'happiness is a warm gun' which is even more of a tragedy :( that might just be my alltime favorite beatles song. apart from strawberry fields forever, hey jude, michelle, penny lane, let it be, something, birthday, we can work it out, lady madonna, etc etc etc etc etc etc)

it wasn't so FREAKING FRACKING COLD. i am soooo NOT a baby - i used to live in England for heaven's sake which is like the north pole (how on earth i survived, i have no idea....) it has to be like 40 degrees here. i am SO NOT KIDDING. today's high: 62 :| i am going to say it.... i have no choice: FML* :|

*oh gawd how i hate that expression :| worse than the sum of OMG/LOL/ROFL/TIA/IDK/and all the other horrible expressions. FML is just absolutely horrible and shocking. this expression is usually typed on one's smartphone, while sitting in one's air conditioned SUV, while sipping a ventifrappolatte with non fat soy milk that a humble minion prepared, while driving to the gym to climb into a human hamster wheel, while another minion scurries around said person's house, cleaning the pee around the toilet rim for said ungrateful one, before another minion scrapes the dirt from beneath said one's nails and painstakingly paints zebra stripes on them. oh how i hate FML. it's the epitomy of everything that's wrong with (ungrateful) people today (and in case i didn't say it clearly enough... I HATE IT!!!)

the boys being back to school. i know i'm the only one in the entire world.... but i truly love endless days filled with nothing and nowhere to be (homeschooling would interfere with this zen ;)

ps i am NOT POSTING THIS PICTURE for my own selfish personal gratification, but here is Dr Drew for Wendy :) (does this mean, Wendy, you've never watched '16 and pregnant' or 'teen mom'...? or 'celeb rehab'...??! while they are in NO WAY comparable to 'married to rock' (but honestly, what is?!) they are quite wonderful if their own ways, namely Mr Dr Drew (his first name's Dr, right? :)

• my tennis elbow arm feeling ohhhh soooo much better, thanks to that steroid shot thingie... which i highly recommend even though i don't really know what it is :) i haven't taken aleve all week, it's a miracle!

• short to-the-point-no-chitty-chatty-bullshit phone calls :)

• rain boots (especially on very rainy days)
  

• making Jerry a two story rattie dreamhome out of USPS boxes :) shh, don't tell the USPS... it says using their boxes for anything but sending mail is a federal offense or something :|

• lunchdates to Maggie's for fish and chips :)

• teeny tiny cards arriving in the mail from deepest, woolliest Wales (the envelope is smaller than the postage stamp and so completely adorable i am never throwing it away :)
  

• playdoh (and the way it's smell reminds me of christmases in the olden days :)

• a huge bowl of fresh really yummy oranges from our neighbor's tree (which still amazes me - they don't have oranges on trees in England... well maybe they do now, it seems like England is a whole lot more user friendly these days:)

• his penchant for digestive biscuits dipped in ice cold milk

• coming home from school caked in mud and pink cheeked from playing (yes he is always always shirtless...)

• the cape cod starfish i hung in the windows for christmas that are too precious to take down just yet...
  

• being surrounded by kittycats :) this is Trinity (who now has a cute little bobtail...), Sully, Charlie Girl and Lanora (who usually sits on the top of the cat tree:)
  

what i did so far this year....

• posed as the date, yesterday 1.1.11 :) our dogs refused to be the decimal points and we were SO MAD we pretended to be a pair of dentists' pliers and a red devil and a werewolf just to scare them ;)

• stopped being polite and started getting real :) ok, that's been my resolution since the beginning of time (ie beginning of real world)... i just emphatically renew it every 1.1.xx

• tried to remember to sit up straight (just sat up straight again...)

• tried to watch the Oprah Winfrey Network - it's all sneak peeks and i hate sneak peeks, i want real SHOWS!!

• read a really interesting article on jogging (but wasn't inspired to take it up :)

• used fancy coordinates that look like this N3407.688 W118 18.946 to get to the Hollywood sign (and they actually worked, i felt like Christopher Columbus with my trusty white iphone and GPS!)

• endured twelve episodes of being too tired to walk another step :|

• found the Hollywood sign!!

• hiked sooooo high we could see the earth curvature :)

• drove around L.A. as there was ZERO TRAFFIC!!!

today.....

we spent the morning at the zoo

we watched Spirit take a bath :)

he played on the monkey bars :)

they pretended to be monkeys and dinosaurs :)
