dark cloudy nights leaving the Cape

that we live where that gorgeous light starts

the golden-est hours you ever saw

how much daffodils remind me of my last days with my Dad and how they
cheer, warm and light up the house like he's stopping in to say hello :)

 our new feathered friends

who are like HBO for pets :)

his obsession with the dog next door who looks just like Bo Obama

three things (i blame daylight savings)

in case i didn't mention recently, i loooooove it here.  "here" being off Cape (go figure)  i actually love it about 17 times more than i loved being on Cape (and let's face it, i really looooooooved being on Cape too)  so yes, i kinda sorta love it here.

there is a Michaels and a Joann right down the road - next to each other, next to a Walmart and a Target.  and the Joann lets you buy EVERY ITEM with an imaginary 40% off coupon that you don't even have, the cashier just keeps one for people who ask.  seriously?  if i was President this is how the entire world would be!  also there is a Bertucci's (several actually!) and a Regina Pizza (yuuum) and TWO Little Caesars.  and a Friendly's too.  and a Chili's. and a Panera and a Cosi and a really fast McDonalds.  AND A WENDY'S!!!!  no-one should not have a Wendy's nearby!  oh my gawd i missed civilization and suburban sprawl and terribly unhealthy junk food pretty badly apparently ;)

but not the people of California.  i don't miss them at all and i'm still in some kind of PTSD.  i still don't strike up a conversation and try to avoid the neighbors because i don't want to hear how much they paid for their couch or which private school their kids go to or which company their husband is CEO of or all the reasons that they're gluten free or don't shop at Walmart.  but when they do corner me inching up the driveway like a frightened deer looking for a clear escape path, i actually really like the people here... they're like really really nice :)  like reaaaaaally nice

i'm going back to the Cape today to pick up some things we left and clean a little.... did i mention Taylor Swift ditched her Cape house too...?  yeah, i bet she missed Wendy's and Target too ;)

back later xoxoxo

james... james taylor... and taylor swift

listening
to James Taylor songs on a quiet unbusy Sunday night (in a word: bliss)

also listening
to James songs too because listening to James Taylor reminded me of ja--m--es - remember that shirt?  oh yeah, i had one ;)

drinking
a large diet coke from McDonalds (because lent's basically over, right??!

marveling
at the amazingness of my latest invention - the veggie mac.  you buy a big mac, take out the grotesque meat patties to give to the dogs and replace them with morningstar grillers which your helpful handsomehusband grills at home while you make the mercy dash to McDs.  put it all together with half a bottle of ketchup and..... wow!  ohhhh big mac (minus the meat), how i missed you soooooooo!

boycotting
Saturday Night Live.  i hate that dumb show.  actually i've never watched a whole episode, but i'm not about to start now ;)  Tina Fey and Amy Pouler can both suck it!

wanting
to go and see both (Jon) Bon Jovi and Taylor Swift at Patriot Place in July... both concerts are on wonderful balmy Saturday nights (it's balmy in July in Boston.... right?  it gets warm eventually... right?)

wondering
how on earth they are both sold out.... :(  telling myself i'll probably not enjoy it anyway but it is of no comfort right now...

waiting
patiently for my little LOVE statue to arrive...  for some reason it was important enough that i stayed up half the night shopping for it :|

hating
my chin.  seriously i hate it.  it's so spotty

hating
the irony that the snow tube we bought online got stuck in the mail in the stupid ass snow storm.  isn't it ironic... don't you think?  or maybe it's just total bullshit???

wondering
why Alanis thanks Providence.  must go and see what's so special about it.....

Jon Bon Jovi and really good pizza

staying
at home all day today - it's snowing my favorite kind of big fluffy silent floaty snowflakes and i have nowhere to be :)

wanting
to take Sam to Bertucci's after early dismissal today though... but baby, it's cold outside ;)  but i have coupons AND gift cards... so i'd actually be richer for eating there... hmmm, what to do.  i could just eat the free salad and bring the pizza home for dinner.  oh gosh... hmmm....

wishing
people wouldn't talk to me when i have HEADPHONES ON!!!  because seriously, that should be a felony

hoping
the cable man comes today.  because if he doesn't, it's going to get ugly and a little tear-stained around here.  i n-e-e-d my daily dose of Dr Drew(l) very seriously badly - i'm soooooo far behind with Jodi Arias :(

printing
pictures for the bare walls... because WE HAVE A HOME AGAIN!!!

loving
the driveway and the garage and being able to go to the car without bundling up and putting on boots first and pushing back door-darter dogs and spilling coffee everywhere and forgetting to lock the door and having to go back again... life without a (two car, attached, with doors that go up and down) garage = just not worth living, no way no how

not loving
misjudging the size of our humungous car and tearing off a wing mirror :-O  luckily it clicked right back on again - phew. and note to self: that door isn't 16 feet wide anymore.... it's a very skinny 8 feet (times 2 - the East Coast is odd like that)

absolutely loving
the Christmas Tree Shop by our new house.  it's one of the huuuuge ones with every kind of beauty product you can think of.  my number one favorite Christmas Tree Shop ;)  (also they have Portugese muffins but i'm staying strong and keeping the faith...) speaking of which.....

wanting
to go and see (Jon) Bon Jovi at Patriot Place - omg i loooooove him!!!!!!!!  Aaron says i can't name more than three Bon Jovi songs and he's possibly quite right, but ohhh how i looooove Jon Bon Jovi :)  he takes Advil you know for his aches and pains :)

off to school - i guess the staying inside all day was just a dream, but ohhhh, it's pretty outside :) and my tummy is rumbling for wood fired pizza with sweet crushed tomatoes and creamy mozzarella all over it ;)

tuesday things

trying
to grow my hair.  since 1989 in fact... sigh

sitting
on a Tidy Cats litter box.  i definitely need to just buy a desk chair tomorrow and quit waiting for "the perfect one" to come along :)

going
slightly insane because the chorus of Clocks by Coldplay has been playing on a never-ending loop in my head for days (and oh my gawd it makes me homesick for pollution, channel 4 documentaries and foggy mornings)

wondering
what to have for dinner... absolutely nothing sounds good tonight except nutella mochi waffles and milky tea (which is like totally nutritious, right?)

hating on
everyone hating on Taylor Swift and her pertiful swirly dresses, candy-coated love songs and serial dating habits.  fuck them all Taylor, they're just jealous!!!  especially that Tiny Fey (who was funny for like 5 minutes, and has just been plain eye-rollingly annoying ever since.  and she'd look soooo ridiculous in a sweet vintage dress and she knows it ;)

loving
that a bunch of neighbor kids invited Danny to play in the cul-de-sac with them tonight after school till dinner was on the (not-delivered-yet) table.  and Sam found a friend on the street too (yeah.  i looooooooooooove it here)

feeling
sooooo lucky that after taking such a huuuuuuuge leap, our parachute opened and we landed on our feet and the landing was soft and the whole experience, sublime :)

he's happy
