i am the world's best/worst earthquake feeler... i (think i) feel the slightest earthquake of the minutest magnitude many times a day- in stores like IKEA and Bloomingdales that have bouncy floors, and at home when Mr UPS roars round the corner or if the space shuttle flies overhead (it happens all the time :)... but there were telltale signs accompanying today's 'quake' that it wasn't all in my head - 3 dogs barked at the exact same moment and the cats both looked at the ceiling with that 'we're all gonna die!!' look in their eyes. computer says: 1.2 in Beaumont at 3:15pm. but only a 1.2??? i could have sworn it was at least a 5.6....
today we went to the apple store - only my favorite place ever :| the little man who helped us looked like Michael Stipe, which meant i couldn't absorb a word of what he was saying because i was too busy comparing his mannerisms with Michael Stipe's and wondering if he also drinks from a Pert Plus shampoo bottle and if, in turn, Michael Stipe has an iPhone... i just can't decide, it sure is pretty and all but it doesn't have video. if i buy one, the very next day a new model will be launched with HD video capabilities, i just know it. and the whole thing feels like the mini cooper purchase - sure it's cute and shiny for about the first 26 hours then a drowning sense of buyer's remorse and idiocracy sets in. what to do what to do what to do what to do what to do what to do what to do....
when in doubt, go straight to Ruby's, order a peanut butter cup milkshake for two and think about it...
and make a confused playlist:
hold back the rain - duran duran
we can work it out - stevie wonder
the trick is to keep breathing - garbage
being boring - pet shop boys
i dont sleep i dream - rem
and sort through pictures:
see that man over Pooh's left very rounded shoulder? we'll call him "Karl" from Corona, CA... he said he "f***ing hates Tigger" - gasp!! but i f****ing love Tigger!
really... who on earth could hate Tigger? he is furry and kind to children! "Karl" is clearly jealous of his celebrity status...
at the mall today :)
at lunch today :)
What I read in November 2020

It’s almost the end of the year! The kids are going to be done with school
any day now, I am so excited. That means my book reading will go down
signific...
oh hey...did you hear about the little mermaid? do you know why cinderella can't play baseball?
ReplyDeletei love your pictures, and your playlist, and those milkshakes. no advice on the phone; they look fun, though.
You guys got to hug Pooh Bear. Elliot will be jealous.
ReplyDeleteI agree, how can you not love Tigger, lame-o Karl.
I love your confused playlist. And I definitely agree with going to Ruby's for the most delicious milkshake when in doubt. But I say get the iphone for one of you, and if the new version with HD video comes out the next day, then go and get it for the other of you.
...I wish I could wear shorts all the time, how I envy you all!
ReplyDeleteahh but did you hear the latest about Chip and Dale???! not that i can remember the punchline... being totally embarrassed and avoiding eye contact requires so much effort.
ReplyDeleteTheresa, guess what? Pooh was off for a poop break AGAIN! he agreed to hug everyone in the line.... but it just wasn't the same as getting his autograph and all that cool stuff :)
Poopy Pooh Bear!
ReplyDeleteI keep coming back to the picture of the boys having their milkshakes, and thinking Danny's is falling over sideways. It makes me very nervous wondering if it actually went over.
