today i learnt that the red eye on jupiter is so big you could fit three earths in it alone!
and that homemade chocolate covered peanut butter pretzel sandwiches are very very addictive at 3pm....
and that Johnnie Boden sucks. the dinosaur teeshirts STILL are not here and i am soooo sick of Danny asking to check the mailbox. according to the Boden website they give no expectation of how long an item should take to arrive, just that from being dispatached, it will take 7-10 days (it's been weeeeeeks...). and my order sat for over a week before it was ever dispatched. anyway, i found him on facebook and sent him a note. no-one screws with Danny Rice and lives to tell the tale. oh and he has this sad little sobfest going on about having ginger hair and how he wants to dye it because it makes him soooo sad... pathetic little man!
walked to trader joes to appease my lavender cleaning product obsession. i bought far too many heavy things and had to stagger home in the baking sun with my wares. ate a banana to lighten the load... it didn't really help.
thought and thought all day about the Peter Kay/metalwork teacher thing. we had two teachers - one for metalwork and one for woodwork. the woodwork teacher was old and Irish but his name was Callaghan not Coogan. so then i looked for Steve Coogan's fricking biography and no, his real name is Coogan. and the woodwork teacher was definitely Mr Callaghan. urgh, why does this stuff keep me awake at night?!
in other news i have officially become more American than English today. i can no longer eat English baked beans. i used to love them (with fish fingers and chips - yum!) now they are so repulsive smelling, i can barely stand them. huh.
got an email from Barack on facebook (how i love having a president who is a human being and at the very least appears to be WORKING really really hard). he's speaking in OC on wednesday... a day i have a playdate with some very very special friends... but gosh i would love to see him.... but it will be nuts... and the playdate is long overdue... and i bet they don't even let you take cameras into the fairgrounds... and i CAN take my camera to the playdate... but if the playdate is canceled, i am so there!
What I read in November 2020
-
It’s almost the end of the year! The kids are going to be done with school
any day now, I am so excited. That means my book reading will go down
signific...
When my eldest was young we had to collect all of the Mr Men books wherever we went. We eventually managed to complete the whole set and they were just sooo good to read, just long enough to hold a youngsters attention. Then they added some newer ones so we had to get them too.
ReplyDeleteI loved the way the Mr Men logo would appear on the spines when you lined them all up in a row. I was forever sorting them out into numerical order!
When the children grew up and lost interest I sold them on Ebay ;-( I miss them!
I would of course be Mr Cool...Mr Clever...Mr Brave...Mr Perfect
O.K. You've got it Mr Grumpy ;-)
oh my goodness... that photo with the books is the BEST!!! I love it so much i want it for my fridge. it would make me smile everyday :)
