kids eat free at IKEA this weekend! because who doesn't dream of dining at IKEA with kids on Valentine's Day........?
speaking of valentine's day - the party. argh. never ever ever again will i volunteer to help unless i am actually getting paid to volunteer :| it's slave labor! by the end of the party i was actually shocked it was ONLY 676 cards, since it felt like at least 750,000....
awful. just hopelessly awful. detached lollipops strewn everywhere, clueless 3 year olds sticking all 26 valentines in one bag and walking away (seriously where is their work ethic???) genius moms who insisted on sending girl/boy specific valentines (this should be a felony) and children bawling because they had too many hello kitty and not enough spongebob cards... moms who only sent enough candy for half the class (because it's really fun to explain to the unlucky little kids that some people should just be bludgeoned for their fricking stupidity :)
add to this that i had my least favorite mom EVER as the other helper. a woman devoid of any personality... one of those women born to be a mother, who i clearly have absolutely nothing in common with... a woman as generic as store bought vanilla icecream, just blah blah blah blah blah!!! and.... Tiger Woman. the cougar/grandma with the stripy hair, who drives to and from school with a white chihuahua licking at her face. my cup of bullshit runneth over today :|
also Danny was clinging onto me lifelessly for about the last hour of the class. duh... i just thought about it...i should have just left at that point and avoided that whole card fiasco! he was technically sick and i had a totally valid excuse in my limp, flush-faced little puppy dog. argh. when will i ever starting connecting the dots????!
going to bed to finish the gripping Dr Phil with the awful snakelike mean girl with too-far-apart eyes. people with wide set eyes are generally not very sweet, but this girl takes the biscuit and it's good TV :)

O-M-G Carol, and you know I never say that. Sounds like a crazy rotten day. Hope you get some sleep and that your baby feels better soon, and that you never ever have to volunteer with Miss. Vanilla again. And the tiger grandma with a chihuahua, please take a picture.
ReplyDeleteoh my word........sounds like valentine HELL!
