love is.......

waking up here.  and not having to count the days till i leave again (because i'm never ever leaving :)

jumping out of bed and putting on a pretty dress and cardi and feeling all kinds of alive again - it's been 5 years, 1 week and 2 days since i felt really, truly, deeply this happy

my hubbie giving me the iPhone upgrade.  and then being completely calm, and not even slightly frustrated, when i hated said phone and wanted to return it torture it and flush it down the toilet ;)  and sending the kids off on the schoolbus today for the first time so i don't stress and fuss and cry.   i married Robbie Hart from the Wedding Singer (he would even let me hold the remote control, but i don't want to be bothered :)

flipping through CNN and seeing a worldly, charismatic, remarkably intelligent, highly capable, compassionate (adorable:) man leading our country in the right direction - he has your back, everyone's back everywhere, and no-one will even notice or appreciate it until someone worse comes along who doesn't.... i want to fist bump Obama SO BAD!

Bass - i freaking LOVE that store!!  how i missed snuggly, solid, chunky sweaters with cables and bobbles and that Irish heaviness to them.  there is only ONE in California and it's in that stinky garlic capital of the world, Gilroy, by snootyville Carmel-by-the-Sea.  ehhhh i DO NOT miss California.  the sensory overload of Big Sur, for a split second maybe... but honestly, the entire coast of Massachusetts is a treat for the senses

frequenting all the family owned small businesses here - it's like the olden days only with GPS and smart phones that can carry on a conversation and really yummy salads at McDonalds ;)

a little bit of extra spending money here and there for unessentials like Kate Spade purses (there's an outlet here because it's paradise)

how people here treat their pets... the empty animal shelters... the stores dedicated to the daily happiness of pets, the kitties bird watching in windows and dogs still out for walks on cold days - my tender animal-loving heart is getting a little bit stronger each day xoxox

all around here - from the people who flash their lights to let you go before them at the intersection (so very British and lovely!) to the checkers at the store who whip out their loyalty card when you apologize that you don't have one yet (they don't do that in CA because... well, i have no clue why people aren't just kind to one another when it costs them nothing)  love is all around me, and so the feeling grows :)  (yes i just quoted a Trogg ;)

  2. Hi! I just popped over from Angela's blog (nosy about who she'd had coffee with!), and I got lost in your lovely photos and journaling. I did a similar trek with my family (from CA to Norfolk, Virginia) many, many years ago, so your trip feels very familiar to me. And we're road tripping to Nantucket for Thanksgiving, so I luxuriated in your Cape Cod photos. Can't wait to see it in person. I predict that my son, who is 13, will want to move there!
