in case i didn't mention recently, i loooooove it here. "here" being off Cape (go figure) i actually love it about 17 times more than i loved being on Cape (and let's face it, i really looooooooved being on Cape too) so yes, i kinda sorta love it here.
there is a Michaels and a Joann right down the road - next to each other, next to a Walmart and a Target. and the Joann lets you buy EVERY ITEM with an imaginary 40% off coupon that you don't even have, the cashier just keeps one for people who ask. seriously? if i was President this is how the entire world would be! also there is a Bertucci's (several actually!) and a Regina Pizza (yuuum) and TWO Little Caesars. and a Friendly's too. and a Chili's. and a Panera and a Cosi and a really fast McDonalds. AND A WENDY'S!!!! no-one should not have a Wendy's nearby! oh my gawd i missed civilization and suburban sprawl and terribly unhealthy junk food pretty badly apparently ;)
but not the people of California. i don't miss them at all and i'm still in some kind of PTSD. i still don't strike up a conversation and try to avoid the neighbors because i don't want to hear how much they paid for their couch or which private school their kids go to or which company their husband is CEO of or all the reasons that they're gluten free or don't shop at Walmart. but when they do corner me inching up the driveway like a frightened deer looking for a clear escape path, i actually really like the people here... they're like really really nice :) like reaaaaaally nice
i'm going back to the Cape today to pick up some things we left and clean a little.... did i mention Taylor Swift ditched her Cape house too...? yeah, i bet she missed Wendy's and Target too ;)
back later xoxoxo
