christmas eve things

craving
Portuguese chowder.  in a crusty warm NOT sourdough bread bowl (one more thing i DON'T miss about the West Coast: accidentally getting sourdough instead of white)

wishing
i had just bought that Alex & Ani snail bracelet when i saw it in November.....  now it's completely sold out because i didn't think having a snail bracelet was that relevant or important to me.  how wrong i was.... not about the relevance, but the importance

hating
the kind of people who come out of the woodwork to shop on Christmas Eve - they make me SICK!   the ones who gasp for breath because life is so exhausting.  and the kind who write checks and have to work out their new balance at the front of the book (seriously).  and the kind who have seemingly never used a conveyor belt at the checkout before and have no idea how checking out of a store works.  how i pity their poor families who have to spend tomorrow with them.  and only get an ugly half-dead pointsettia in a pair of ceramic Santa boots and a lameass humidifier for their trouble.  ha!!!

going
to Cape Cod this afternoon to run my favorite dogs along my favorite beach.

hoping
i can please please please get what i want while i'm out - Lord knows it would be the first time

favorite snugglepuss (shhh don't tell the others)
off to school (i LOVE the schoolbus)
 the road to Cape Cod
breakfast in Bourne.  or maybe Buttermilk Bay.  or maybe Buzzards Bay.
Buttermilk Bay sounds nicest for breakfast :)
the 95 to Providence
Dublin Dorchester, MA - where you can get Irish toastie bread and Irish Cadbury's
(ie heaven on earth)
also an Irish breakfast that is sooooo good
gingerbread Santa (how are you supposed to eat something this cute???!)
we made shrinky dinks of our houses (the first one is missing)
Danny made wimpy kid characters
the curling part is absolute torture
too awesome to be shrunky dunk - the stress of watching these shrink and possibly curl would kill me :)
what Blackjack would look like with no eyes
i took the kids to a casino (best mom ever)
