today we went to L.A. i don't know what on earth possesses me to try yet another museum when i know they induce such boredom i end up sleeping the entire afternoon. it's the pursuit of being a good mother i know... but i honestly don't think my kids learn anything in museums :(
anyway, we went to some airplane museum where nothing really worked and my pathetic attempt to get my hang-glider off the ground was an embarrassment to womankind. the boys bought toy planes however so they were happy, and we headed for LAX In-N Out, which has a nice dining terrace where you can practically reach up and touch the tires of incoming jumbo jets. they loved it :) thanks to my pathetic diet i didn't get animal fries and regretted it deeply. stupid diet!
when we got home i immediately took to my bed and slept off the museum coma and woke up surrounded by every pet in the house :) made cornflake cakes, chicken breasts and burnt the calories out of a piece of french bread for dinner. kids jumped in trampoline with the dogs and i closed the laundry room door 7 times (each time, someone came back inside JUST to open that door and then go outside again :| )
the good news of the day was that i set a test for the robotic vacuum cleaner while we went out. i left kitty litter all over the laundry room floor since i have noticed it doesn't like to pick it up and instead craftily sweeps it under the doorway to the bathroom where it is forbidden to go (grr, i DO notice these things... it thinks i don't) we came back and you could have eaten off the laundry room floor! it was that clean. and the vacuum cleaner was sitting looking so proud of itself with a full bin of fluff and litter :) yay for technology, i might NOT return it after all!
ok back to bed... it's 7:40pm for heaven's sake!
What I read in November 2020

It’s almost the end of the year! The kids are going to be done with school
any day now, I am so excited. That means my book reading will go down
signific...
can you believe i have never had animal fries..I KNOW!!!
ReplyDeletei want to go to that in-n-out and eat.
i played a painful game of go fish and then another and then another all to be that "good" mom.
hehe everyone is wearing stars!
ReplyDeleteI love the way Sam and Romeo (I think that is his name) have matching stars on their tops!
ReplyDeleteI used to go to The Queens Building at London Heathrow and even knew a spot at the end of the runway where with the sunroof open, you could nearly touch the 747's as they prepared to touch down. When the children were younger we took my late Grandmother there and I still recall the look of amazement on her face. Unfortunately the bad guys have forced security to close these sort of pleasures down.
Just listening to Baz Man on "Wake up to Wogan". He is topping the bill at "Proms in the Park" on Saturday 12th September in Hyde Park...Perhaps I can see him twice in a year ;-)
I want a dog with a star! And a robot vacuum would be cool too.
