we got married at the Graceland chapel in Las Vegas :) but we didn't use the services of Elvis because it was an old fat one in those days...
Jon Bon Jovi also got married at the Graceland chapel (there should most definitely be a Bon Jovi wedding chapel too)
and so did Billy Ray Cyrus (ditto for him, who doesn't love Billy Ray Cyrus??!)
and some other people i've never heard of...
and the Thompson Twins too, who kind of fit into the above category :)
the receptionist took a roll of pictures of us with a Canon Rebel (and she even gave us the roll and trusted us to print them ourselves, however we saw fit :)
first we looked at the MGM Grand in case it was at all possible to get married at the end of the yellow brick road (but it wasn't and it also seemed kind of generic and lame there..)
we won the money for our wedding on a slot machine at the Hard Rock Hotel so technically, our wedding cost a quarter :)
(and we still had $15 left over for dinner :)
(which covered our Dairy Queen brownie blizzards still with some money leftover for more gambling :)
we got married at 6:43pm (it was supposed to be 7pm but we are always early for everything :)
Sam was born 4 years, 4 months and 4 days later :)
and Danny was born 4 years and 4 months after that, at 6:43pm also :)
the morning after we got married, i drove to California and back to Vegas (even though i had no insurance and had never driven on the wrong side of the road before :)
we stayed at the Luxor, in the pyramid, back in the days when it was fancy and had a river running through it :)
then Bellagio was built, the Nile started to make the pyramid sink, and it was all over for the Luxor. but i still love it dearly for obvious reasons... it even has a Little Caesars in it :)
and i still love Vegas dearly for obvious reasons - it's our town :) xoxoxo

ReplyDeleteI have been working a new job four to five nights a week and three to four days ... IN A ROW. 86 to 110 CONTINUOUS hours of caregiving for an elderly couple. I sleep WHEN/IF they sleep. Hard to find BOTH of them sleeping at once. lol Anyways.. no computer there. Errands and catching up on sleep when I get home and then little time for blogging ... but I sure have thought of you. Glad all is well here. :) Hug!
