after the rain

i took a little break from blogging to plan our cross country trip, drive across the country, recover from driving across the country (i had wicked whiplash... no clue how that happened) and subsequently mourn the over-ness of said wonderful trip across the country.  since we returned home 5-ish weeks ago, i have thought of only one thing - how do i get back there? and just stay there forever and never have to leave???!  and so... our house has a "for sale" sign outside it and absolutely no pictures of the family anywhere at all.  in their place is a hideous red silk flower arrangement that our elderly agent swears up and down will sell the house ;)  because apparently "red sells" :|

i am not sure if it's the stress of having so many visitors, or the over-exertion of making the beds perfectly everyday, or the excitement of half-emigrating or the 3 days we spent in Las Vegas with all that wonderful food and without the prilosec.... but oh my gawd, death by awful burny horrible acid reflux today.... it's so nasty i'm drinking only water and eating only dry crackers and avoiding anything that normally would seem like an awesome idea:|  stupid dumb esophagus

in other news, i love Honey Boo Boo and i seem to be the only person who does :( her family is real and down-to-earth and live within their humble means and for all those things, i love them ;)  because phoney people just aren't that sweet and fascinating.  next show to catch my eye: the one with the siamese twins!!  and not those old mean ones who yell at people in NYC for staring at them (honestly, i reserve the right to stare with mouth agape if ever i see siamese twins!)  no, these are nice young siamese twins!!!  if TLC would kill off that horrible Duggar clan, i would openly say i watch that channel ;)     

in other other news, the ground is regularly shaking here and it's freaking the pets out.  i rarely feel the tremors though... only when the house makes really loud creaking sounds like it's about to split in two do i realize what's going on ;)  so i downloaded an app to tell me everytime there's an earthquake so i can go and stand in a doorway about 30 seconds too late ;)
