this warm, cozy, insulated beautiful, light-filled house that goes on forever and ever and ever
also it's real wood floors, sash windows, gorgeous white porch, slightly weathered grey shingles and distressed picket fence (hydrangeas too:)
not wanting to go to bed at night and impatiently waiting to get up because living here is like Christmas Day everyday
colonials and capes and gambrels
the boys' schools... i can't decide which one i love more. they are both wonderful and efficient. and they smell like English schools and the teachers and staff couldn't be lovelier and kinder. and did i mention the SCHOOLBUS....??? that collects the kids at the end of our street and drops them off at the end of the day???!!! it's official: i have died and gone to heaven :)
Bertucci's (i probably already loved that.... but i really do love it!)
Ocean State Job Lots (coolest, jumbliest, randomest, strangest store ever)
that everyone here is more Kennedy than Kardashian ;)
that it's so lovely just being here that we still haven't set up our TV
that i haven't seen a single obnoxious Mercedes or BMW here so far (honestly i feel like i'm in rehab from everything that's awful and crass and wrong with the world)
that everyone here loves their dogs and takes wonderful care of them
the darkest, deepest, velvetiest, starriest skies i've ever seen (you have to see them to believe them!! they are magical...)
Old Silver Beach
roundabouts (they call them rotaries because everything on Cape Cod must be adorable :) and the super speedy traffic here that never stops flowing
sleeping soundly and not grinding my teeth anymore (my dentist was right... moving to Cape Cod did fix everything :)
the next three weeks being partial school weeks for the boys (because we have a million places to go!)
Aaron finding a perfect petsitter at the Post Office today (did i mention everyone here is friendly and dog-loving?!)
no sales tax at amazon (what can i buy next???!)
no sales tax on clothes (!!!!!!!!!!!)
no sales tax at all when you shop in New Hampshire!!!!
back with pics of the roadtrip which will make you weep. because it was awful and i am NOT a camper. maybe i'll talk about it someday ;)
