dear trinity church on the corner with the big clown in the stained glass window

i am not the most religious person at times (i know... it's hard to believe, huh?) but i am pretty sure God would NOT approve of your selfish behavior. firstly, you decided to close and repave the school/church joint carpark on the first day after spring break (heaven forbid during spring break... because that would make sense), which was also the day the clocks sprang forward so everyone was at 6s and 7s and there was quite a kerfuffle with nowhere to park and drop off kids safely/on time. it wasn't very smart at all and when i asked myself 'what would Jesus do?' i was absolutely positive, from what little i know of him, that he wouldn't have done that :|

secondly, you later decided that sharing said carpark with elementary age children, so they could get to school safe and sound, was much too much of a burden to your congregation, so you banned them from using it. God bless the little children and all that, but please don't allow them to use the church's carpark on the very unchurchly days of Monday to Friday :) but, you keep a lock on the little teacher's carpark so you can use it whenever you need it :)

anyway onto today's shenanigans... school lets out at 2:30pm and for 10 minutes it is a hive of activity, mommies and daddies rushing to be there on time for their little darlings, and as us parents are not allowed to use the carpark anymore, there is a certain amount of stress about finding a parking space on the street and trying to cross with young kids and all that inconvenient family stuff :) so today... the thinkers at trinity church on the corner with the big clown in the window organized a funeral which let out at exactly 2:30pm... car after car after car rolled past the school for what seemed like hours (it seems like days when your kid is waiting for you...) school buses could not get in, parents could not cross the street to get their kids on time, total mayhem for 15 straight minutes of funeral procession 14 mph hell. yes i know someone died and it's very sad and all that... but the area outside school is busy for a matter of minutes every afternoon.... before that, nothing.... after that, nothing.... would it be so hard for the nice people at trinity church on the corner with the big clown in the window, to be considerate and courteous and think about the community and their children just once...? love thy neighbor and all that....? yup... i guess so.

  2. URGH!!! i can say from professional experience that almost ALL funerals on the east coast are at 10am... have you thought of moving to Cape Cod or somewhere east like that?

  3. For reals? That church sounds very unchurchy to me...
thinking that they need to pray a little harder for some organizing skills and kindness...

  4. What the hell is a big clown doing in a church window.

And seriously, I think Jesus would let the parents use the car park.

During the funeral, the minister should have spent another ten minutes speaking about the lovely person who died. This is all just my own opinion.
