walked
8 miles in 71 degrees - it was warm but cool, just the way i like it :)
bought
golden raisins, flour, vegetables and a basket of the sweetest strawberries that i ate almost ALL of, for lunch :) Danny had 3 and Sam had 3 after school and for once i felt like a good mom :)
made
grilled fish with asparagus and teeny tiny potatoes for dinner. soooo good even Danny ate it :)
watched
outrageous kid parties. the woman spent $32,000 for her 6 year old's party - and the little girl had a hissy fit because her $2300 birthday cake had a purple bird instead of a blue bird on it :| and here was me thinking Chuck E Cheese was scandalously expensive ;)
baked
a new batch of perfectly fluffy scones. i know... i shouldn't have done that... it was a very bad idea... but i just love to bake so much :( i made them with egg beaters and fat free milk... surely a stick and a half of slimming butter (and a little bit of sugar and four cups of flour) isn't that terrible...? anyway they are so good, i would rather have a scone than a sensible meal anyday :)
dreamt
about lamingtons all day long..... i want to make some :) (after the scones are all gone :)
What I read in November 2020
-
It’s almost the end of the year! The kids are going to be done with school
any day now, I am so excited. That means my book reading will go down
signific...
Re the lammies: If you're going to make them you need to start the day before you want to eat them - day old sponge works best because you get less crumbs in the sauce.
ReplyDeleteWhen you come to visit I'll make a batch of my 'Black Forest' lamingtons. I sandwich two halves of sponge together with morelo cherry jam before the dipping and rolling. Diet or not, there is no resisting them! Yum!
Also, you have to try the pink ones. Instead of chocolate sauce, they're dipped in unset raspberry jelly (jello?). So pretty :)
oooo I do love scones.
