what i did in New York :)

  • arrived at 4:44am. if you're prone to blurry red eyes in the morning and plan on to accidentally mistaking patchouli oil for visine (yes... and yes.... it burned) the night before, DO NOT take the red eye :| i just don't recommend it....
  • was the delighted owner of the third bag (never very first - EVER!!) off the chute at the baggage reclaim. my bag is always always always (usually) last....
  • was met by sweet Melissa. Barry Manilow wrote a song about her called Could it be Magic? and mentions her by name :)
  • had the freshest, most jammiest jelly donut from Dunkin Donuts (my favorite - excluding Country Kitchen - donut store:)
  • walked through the awesome High Line park for the very first time
  • ate the most awesome New York pizza at Patsy's :)
  • had the most decadent desserts and cereal infused milk at the Milk Bar
  • felt slightly ill afterwards :)
  • went to Target. yes Target - in Manhattan!! and there was no sales tax on clothes!!!
  • had White Castle for lunch. delicious!!
  • bought a ridiculous amount of useless knick knacks at the delightfully twee Christmas Tree Shop :) ps they don't sell christmas trees :)
  • fell head over heels in love with Magnolia Bakery banana pudding... i am making my own batch with substituted ingredients as i type :)
  • cuddled a teeny tiny squeaky baby girl for hours :)
  • Just Danced with a 5 year old irish/ballet/modern dancing expert (major pressure)
  • emailed Sam lots (he made the honor roll... i don't know, did i mention that??!)
  • missed Danny's "good reading" award assembly (but Daddy took pictures and video because he's awesome like that :)
  • took a lot of naps :)
  • drank a lot of cawfee :)
  • did a whole lot of catching up :)
  • took a few (hundred) pictures :)
  • saw a few sights :) (but not the about halfway built Freedom tower)
  • encountered the charming* personalities of the JFK staff (* i kid)
  • checked out Jet Blue's completely awesome new terminal- they even have a Muji :)
  • had pizza again :)
  • tried popcorners - not good at all :(
  • wished i had got the smart fries instead :(
  • found huuuuuuge sacks of english cadbury dairy milk chocolate in a shop called "i heart new york" (no idea why! but i bought a couple, nontheless :)
  • actually departed/landed ON TIME!!! (gulp - this absolutely NEVER happens!!)
